Situated in Lamu County, ATDC Mpeketoni deals with a wide range of value chains to enhance and promote including; bixa, oil palm, cashew nut, coconut, cassava, sim sim, vegetable and poultry. It is against this backdrop that appropriate technologies and mechanizations have been developed, fabricated and promoted for adoption. Priority Value Chains
Focus has been tuned to cashew nut and oil palms value chains which are largely grown in Lamu County and Tana Delta Sub- County. The major focus is on handling, processing and packaging. In processing, the station focuses on the fabrication of manual cashew nut decorticator, oil bath rooster and promote uptake by the stakeholders. In addition, oil pressers have been fabricated for oil palms value addition.
